Katy and Steve met in Columbia, SC. They were both visiting the city and ended up in the same bar to watch college football. Even though they exchanged numbers in the hopes of meeting up later that night, it was a while before they would see each other again. But they talked and texted every day. Eventually, Steve went to visit Katy in Athens, GA where she was finishing her last semester at UGA. The weekend was magical. In other words, sparks were flying!
After Katy’s graduation, she and Steve ended up working in separate cities and lost touch for a while. However, it wasn’t long before Steve got back in touch with Katy and they’ve been inseparable ever since. They got married beside Lake Oconee, where Katy spent summers as a child. Steve also has fond childhood memories of lakefront summers, so it was the perfect spot. A dear friend officiated the ceremony.
Katy was gorgeous in her classic A-line gown. Its lace bodice and multi-layered skirting were just dreamy and the removable jacket made it super versatile. The bridesmaids were pretty in gray lace cocktail dresses and each lady carried a baby’s breath bouquet. Meanwhile, Katy’s bouquet was a lush mix of white florals and greenery. Steve and his groomsmen were handsome in navy blue suits and pale blush ties and the wedding party had a blast posing for portraits by the lake.
The reception took place in an open-air pavilion at Reynold’s Plantation Point. Gray linens decorated the dinner tables and the centerpieces were a combination of classic white and green florals and large lanterns. Rustic touches, like the wooden signage gave the decor a homey feel and a live band got everyone up and dancing. Congratulations Katy and Steve!
